I am thrilled to have this issue of AMT finally arrive in your mailbox! It contains the first official publication of the rules for a new category of performance competition, Piano Duet, in the senior level.

About two years ago, the Collaborative Performance Forum was seeking ways to engage the membership and students in more ensemble playing. One suggestion was to involve young pianists in duet playing, and to create events that parallel existing programs in MTNA. Thus was born the Collaborative Performance Task Force, which I was asked to chair. Other members were Sylvia Coats, Paul Stewart, Linda Stump, and Kenneth Christensen.
