The National Institute of Health (NIH) announced last week it will award the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS) $52 million in funding over six years to conduct trials on novel treatments for Alzheimer's disease (AD), estimated to affect as many as 50 percent of Americans age 85 and older.
