Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has appointed Robert Stempien, A.I.A., to the State Board of Architects. Stempien is director of business development for Barton Malow's Public Education Group based at Barton Malow's headquarters in Southfield. The governor's office invited him to apply for the board position, citing his professionalism and technical ability, her regard for Barton Malow's ethical standards, and Barton Malow's position as one of the state's most respected construction companies.
