The power and integrity of THE NEW AMERICAN is rooted not only in its superb research but also in its Biblical perspective, its understanding of God's role in human affairs. R. Cort Kirkwood's November 27 article "ER Overload" presents a fascinating view of that role.
Kirkwood's article states, "Nothing less than the survival of the American healthcare system, the finest in the world, is at stake." He cites "anchor babies," i.e., children of illegal aliens born in this country, as posing a substantial degree of that threat.
How ironic that a healthcare system, which happens to serve as the state's sole agent for the legislated murder of the unborn, should find its survival threatened by living babies brought to term.
