Apr. 5--DAYTON, Ohio -- Successfully selling unique product lines is what prompted the expansion and more than 50 years of service of Dayton-based Karen Carson Creations.

"We try to be kind of the Buick, not the Chevrolet and not the Cadillac," said Terry Mollaun, company president and chief operating officer. "We try to find the niche of better products."

The company recently announced its acquisition of the Four Seasons Handbag Co. from G&L Handbag of Studio City, Calif., and its leasing agreement with Alfred Dunner, a nationally traded ladies sportswear line sold at better stores including Macy's, Belk's and JCPenney. …
