The release of the latest report by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has, predictably, been the occasion for a great deal of hand wringing by the major media, by every variety of liberal, and even by some conservatives. A bipartisan op-ed in the Boston Globe for February 13 by Senators John Mc Cain and Joe Lieberman was typical of media commentary. "There is now a broad consensus in this country, and indeed in the world, that global warming is happening, that it is a serious problem, and that humans are causing it," the senators wrote.
