I am responding to the letter to the editor printed in the November 27, 2006 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN from Dr. Pat Flanagan, in which he asserts that Hezbollah was not responsible for the destruction that took place in Lebanon in the recent conflict between Hezbollah and Israel; Israel was. In regard to his assertion, I must ask, "Should a terrible break-out of a horrible disease occur in Wisconsin and all of the medics in the state were unable to find a cure which caused the death and disablement of thousands of citizens, would you attempt to sit down and talk to the germs or would you attempt some superhuman, but not yet acceptable to the medical profession, medications which might solve the problem? And, should your profession fail and many die, would you blame the medical profession or the pharmaceutical companies for the failure to find a peaceful solution where one was not apparently available?"
