Having sustained a rabid cult following years after its 1991 release (through dubs of scarcely available originals), Divine Styler's Spiral Walls (1989) is now widely available through legal download sites. An original member of rapper/actor Ice-T's Los Angeles-based Rhyme Syndicate crew, Styler (Marc Richardson) converted to Sunni Islam shortly before recording Word Power (Rhyme Syndicate/Epic, 1989) and began work on Spiral Walls with unprecedented artistic leeway. (He was Giant's first rap signing.)
