Suicide rates up among Latina teens.(NEWS)
A FEDERAL STUDY has found that one in six Latina teenagers has attempted suicide. That's a rate roughly one and a half times as high as that among Black and white teenage girls.

Researchers are at a loss as to why so many young Latinas are trying to take their own lives, but some are suggesting that this may have been an unreported problem that is only now surfacing. Dr. Luis Zayas, a professor of social work and psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis, reports that he was seeing the problem 25 years ago while working in a medical clinic in New York.
