SEOUL, April 2 Asia Pulse - The LG. Philips LCD Co., the world's second-largest flat panel maker, said Sunday that its new plant in Poland had begun full-scale operations, consolidating a foothold in European markets.
Located in Kobierzyce, near Wroclaw in southwestern Poland, the plant would produce around three million flat panel modules this year, which will be used in 32-inch and larger-sized liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs, the company said in a press release.
The annual production capacity will be expanded to 11 million units by 2011, it added.
