SEOUL, April 2 Asia Pulse - South Korean manufacturers' business sentiment rose to a five-month high for April as oil refiners and communication equipment manufacturers had a brighter outlook for the upcoming month, the nation's central bank said Monday.
According to a monthly poll by the Bank of Korea, its business survey index (BSI) of manufacturers' expectations climbed to 91 for April from 89 in March. The index, a key measure of business confidence, was at the highest level since November last year.
Despite a rise in the index, the majority still has a gloomy outlook since a reading below 100 means that pessimists outnumber optimists.
