CHILDREN in Leeds involved in the council's walking bus scheme will now be safer thanks to a donation of coats and high visibility vests from Chapel Allerton-based company Grontmij.

The walking bus initiative encourages parents to take turns collecting children from their homes and walking them to school.

Following the acquisition of the Leeds offices of Carl Bro last year, which created one of Europe's largest engineering consultancies, Grontmij rebranded its business in the UK and Ireland last month.
