Acomprehensive exhibition of William Hogarth's multifaceted career is the subject of a major show on view at the Tate Britain in London until April 29. The exhibition examines the whole of Hogarth's life and work, from his beginnings as an engraver in the 1720s, through his rise to fame and fortune in the 1730s and 1740s, and on to the controversial years of the 1750s and 1760s, when he chose to ridicule not just social but more national and political issues.
