Pact Valued at $8 Million over five years

NEW YORK, March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Scientific Games has signed a five year strategic agreement with Sportech PLC, of Liverpool, United Kingdom, to provide football (soccer) pari-mutuel tote services, technology development and related IT consultancy services. Scientific Games expects to generate approximately $8 million of revenue over the five-year term.

Sportech, based in Liverpool, England, is the UK's leading football pari- mutuel pools operator, trading principally as Littlewoods Football Pools(TM). It has a customer base of 500,000 wagering on pools and lottery games based upon the weekly fixtures list of the English Football leagues through a vast network of 13,000 door-to-door ticket sellers, direct mail customers and e- gaming and call center distribution platforms.

"Scientific Games looks forward to partnering with Sportech to grow the UK football pools business. We plan to expand distribution into new venues such as pubs, social clubs and e-gaming portals. In addition we seek to pursue international distribution deals, capitalizing on the worldwide appeal and mainstream popularity of the English Football league and on the historical brand appeal of Littlewoods Football Pools(TM) and its related games like Spot the Ball," said Lorne Weil, Chairman and CEO of Scientific Games.

"Scientific Games has a tremendous track record of implementing innovative pools processing and terminal distribution solutions, along with a network of international tote customers. As such, they were the clear choice to be our partner in re-establishing Littlewoods Football Pools(TM) as a major participant in the UK gaming industry and other strategic international marketplaces," added Ian Penrose, CEO of Sportech. "We intend to work with Scientific Games to improve the efficiency, speed and operational processes at Littlewoods and to implement technology that links the games offered to emerging domestic networks operated by Scientific Games and its affiliate UK companies: Global Draw and Games Media - and potentially to international tote customers of Scientific Games."
