Blaney has struggled as Toyota driver.

Mar. 22--Dave Blaney is a veteran of the racing game.

The Hartford, Ohio, native owns a couple of sprint car championships, operates a speedway, and has competed at the elite level of NASCAR since 1992.

There was no Racing 101 guide for the challenges and scrutiny Blaney has faced this season, however.

Blaney is part of the seven-driver Toyota contingent in the Japanese-owned manufacturer's debut year in Nextel Cup.

Like the rest of the Toyota drivers, Blaney has struggled mightily in his No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota Camry owned by Bill Davis Racing.
