COPENHAGEN (AFX) - Danish sugar producer Danisco posted a 9 months EBIT of 1.620 bln dkr, up 2 pct from a year earlier but below market expectations of 1.650 bln dkr, according to a survey of analysts by RB Borsen.

Pretax profit was up 11 pct from a year earlier at 1.135 bln dkr, while sales fell 2 pct to 15.220 bln dkr, versus market expectations of 15.576 bln dkr.

Sales at the group's Ingredients division increased 3 pct to 10.208 bln dkr, while sales at the Sugar division were down 11 pct at 5.210 bln dkr as a result of the EU sugar reform, Danisco said.
