Prime minister Viktor Yanukovich told German businessmen that the Ukrainian government makes efforts to elaborate relevant legislation providing for normal functioning of the land market in Ukraine in the near future. He admitted that a moratorium on privatization of land in Ukraine could set a wide field for abuses: "We know how plots of land are being misappropriated and what kind of corruption spreads in this sphere."

Mr. Yanukovich pointed out that only relevant legislation would enable authorities to solve this problem.
