BEER SALES ARE BOOMING AND Anheuser-Busch is leading the way, according to the 71 category managers representing the 67 different chains that participated in CSD's Brand Preference Study. The category managers, which represented a total of 21,293 stores, reported their beer sales reached a yearly combined total of $2.58 billion. That's a leap from last year, when 65 respondents reported a total of $1.75 billion in sales.
Approximately 82% of the retailers polled reported Anheuser-Busch as their top performer, followed by Miller Brewing and Coors Brewing Co. Also on the list were Heineken and Corona/Gambrinus/Barton.
