Explosion causes fire at Davie nursing home; 1 killed, 4 in critical condition: Mocksville residents taken to hospitals.

Mar. 13--MOCKSVILLE An explosion last night at a nursing home in Mocksville killed one person and sent 19 people to local hospitals, authorities said. The exact number of injuries and their severity were undetermined last night, but four people were in critical condition. The names of the victims will be released in the early morning. Authorities said that 49 people were in Davie Place Residential Care when the explosion occurred. The nursing home is at 337 Hospital Street. The fire burned the front of the building. Beth Dirks, an assistant manager of Davie County, said that emergency crews were still working to determine the cause of…
