Oil prices higher after falls in US energy stocks.

SINGAPORE (XFN-ASIA) - Oil prices climbed in Asian trading hours on news of an across-the-board decline in US energy stockpiles, dealers said.

At 11.40 am here (0340 GMT), the New York Mercantile Exchange's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, was up 0.11 usd at 61.93 usd a barrel from 61.82 usd in late trading in the US overnight. Brent North Sea crude for April was 0.05 usd higher at 62.55 usd.

The US Department of Energy's (DoE) weekly snapshot of energy supplies, released overnight, shows declines in stockpiles of crude oil, distillates and gasoline, sparking a sharp rise of more than 1.00 …
