The impact of noise from Harrogate's late night drinking culture could be a cause for concern to residents of two proposed flats in the town centre, planners were told.

The borough council's environmental health chiefs also expressed fears that occupants of the flats may be affected by an accumulative effect of extraction systems from nearby kitchens. In an area where cooking odours "can often be detected," said the report.

Meanwhile a report on residential amenity said building the flats would provide more enclosure to yards at the back of Cheltenham Parade.
