Las Vegas City Tour
9:00am-12:30pm * $60 per person
This exclusive tour will take you along the Las Vegas "Strip" where your private tour guide will point out all of the major hotels and casinos. On this tour you will learn how Las Vegas was transformed from a dusty railroad-watering stop at the beginning of the century to the "Entertainment Capital of the World." At the north end of the strip you will travel through the Downtown Casino Center, also known as Glitter Gulch. Here you will have one hour to explore on your own. In this historic area, 11 casinos are within walking distance along the world's most photographed street, Fremont Street.
You will also visit Las Vegas' fabulous Stratosphere Tower that, at 1,149 feet, is the tallest building west of the Mississippi. While visiting the Tower, you will be whisked from the ground level to the observation decks in less than 30 seconds, traveling at speeds of 1,800 feet per minute, which equals three floors per second. The observations decks atop the tower include one indoor, for the faint of heart and one outdoor, for the brave and adventurous. For additional fees, test your bravery on the Big Shot, X Scream or Insanity The Ride.
Monday, June 11 Jubilee! Backstage Tour 9:30-11:30am * $30 per person
The tour begins in the Jubilee! Theatre, where you'll ascend the massive stage to learn about the technology that makes a production of this scale possible--the sound system, giant elevators and flyrail. The next stop brings you to the light booth high above. See what's involved in creating Jubilee!'s fantastic lighting effects. The tour continues beneath the stage in the carpenter shop, electrical shop and prop shop, home to giant set pieces like the Titanic. On to one of the most complete costume shops in the world, where you'll see the wig room, elaborate feather headdresses and costumes designed by Bob Mackie and Pete Menefee. Then it's off to the dressing rooms, where real drama unfolds every night as 100 actors frantically run from their last costume change to their next stage cue. Memorabilia from two decades of performances provide a feeling of sexy nostalgia. Also, watch as a cast member in street clothes is transformed into a glamorous showgirl in a make-up demo. This is a one-of-a-kind, only-in-Vegas experience that you won't want to miss.
