In December 2004, the restaurant Pat's of Henderson in Lake Charles, Louisiana, was robbed. Two robbers opened fire on restaurant worker Nicholas Perioux.
Perioux reviewed the night's happenings for KPLC Channel 7: "I probably had about 10, maybe 15 bullets shot at me." During the maelstrom of bullets, Perioux grabbed a gun and fired back, hitting one of the criminals with a non-lethal shot to the head. The robbers then fled.
