Making Memories is a Los Angeles charity that auctions off wedding dresses to raise money to grant the last wishes of women dying of breast cancer. But on the morning of November 5, thieves stole a 40-foot trailer containing 2,000 dresses bound for Making Memories from the parking lot of a Scottsdale, Arizona, hotel.

When word of the theft was publicized, Making Memories' office was swamped with calls offering donations, according to Suzanne Appel, the charity's L.A. coordinator.
