The wreck of the ill-fated 'Berlin' has led to a considerable call upon the resources of the Railway Passengers Assurance Company - as, indeed, is the case whenever a great catastrophe occurs.
It would seem that the claims are likely to amount to something like GBP10,000 - if not more.
Another body has just been washed up on which an insurance ticket for GBP1000 for the journey was found among the deceased's paper, this making the seventh claim under tickets assured by the company against rail and boat accident, while it is known that among the lost were some holders of annual policies of assurance against accidents of all kinds.
