A motorist who gave police a fake insurance document claimed he bought it for GBP35 from a door-to-door salesman. Burnley magistrates heard how Naeem Mustafa, 30, was trying to escape a conviction of driving without insurance. Now he has not only been convicted of that, he has also got a dishonesty conviction. Mustafa, of St Paul's Road, Nelson, was fined GBP250, with GBP670 costs. He had earlier admitted using a false instrument.
