Playskool is voluntarily recalling more than a quarter-million Team Talkin' Tool Bench toys after two small children suffocated when an oversized plastic nail from the toy became lodged in the throat.
The fatalities of the two boys, a 19-month-old from Martinsburg, W.Va., and a 2-year-old from League City, Texas, occurred in January and July of 2006, respectively.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, neither the nails nor other components of the toy constituted a small-parts choke hazard under the agency's classification system. The toy was labeled for children age 3 and older. Hasbro, Playskool's parent company, said it was recalling the toys as a precaution to prevent other incidents.
