Your October article on ethanol is informative, but the title, "The Ethanol Myth," is unfortunate since you're stating facts. Current technology aims at producing ethanol cost competitively with gasoline on a fuel-economy basis. There is every reason to be excited about bioethanol's (and biodiesel's) many benefits to engine performance, environmental quality, and perhaps more importantly, national security and energy sustainability. These biofuels strengthen our portfolio of transportation fuel options.
