Everything seems to come in fours with the post-rock instrumental band Explosions in the Sky.

The Texas quartet spent four years to put out its fourth full-length album. It's only ironic that this album gets a four out of five.

It's latest release "All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone" is a sprawling journey through six lengthy but complex tracks that suck you in and keep you entranced the entire time.

Though the band doesn't take many chances with breaking new ground, it does accomplish the goal of making a stunningly gorgeous album that uses the pure sound of music to sing instead of actually having a vocalist.

"The Birth and Death of the Day" is a song that lives up to its title. A dynamic guitar shimmers with radiant light before beginning a journey of highs and lows, quiet and loud, expansive and restrained. Then, just as the final moments of the song tick away, it expands into a blooming full-on blast of sound that fades into the soft, gentle easing of a good night.
