You have probably heard about the Defense Department Base Realignment and Closure efforts commonly called "BRAC." The realignment will affect many communities as DOD activities shift. What you may not realize is that BRAC can have a significant impact on collecting from your Defense Department accounts. There are two main impacts: first, the Defense Finance & Accounting Service (DFAS) is consolidating, second, many of your customers and their contracting offices are also moving to new locations.
