Licence award and new sites lift GAC's presence in China.

FREIGHT forwarder GAC will consolidate its presence in China with the opening of new offices this month in Beijing, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

The openings come about a month after the company received its class A freight forwarding licence from China's Commerce Ministry.

GAC's regional director for Asia-Pacific and south Asia, Christer Sjodoff, said the granting of the licence meant GAC could 'now operate as a wholly owned foreign enterprise under the company name GAC Forwarding ' Shipping (Shanghai)'.

He added: 'We will be able to market our extended range of logistics services …
