Feb. 14--Residents of a Yuba County subdivision suffering from sewage problems got some relief Tuesday when county workers installed a temporary storage tank to hold wastewater. The 21,000-gallon tank was placed after county workers discovered contaminated water leaking from a storage pond at the Gold Village subdivision near Smartville over the weekend.

The county will monitor the storage container daily and will hire a company to haul the waste to the Olivehurst Public Utility District treatment plant. "If those go according to plan, porta-potties will be avoided," said Aaron Ward, deputy county administrator for the…
