In 2006 Indesit increased its sales and market share in Poland. The company recorded EUR3bn revenue and EUR76m profit. Its market share grew from 14.6 to 14.9 percent. The Italian home appliance manufacturer also announced new investments. However, the competition is strengthening. The largest player on Polish home appliance market is Amica. Indesit Company Polska general director Marco Zini says being number two is a great achievement, since in 1999 the company was in seventh position. Recently three new players from Korea and Turkey have appeared, so the market is becoming tight. However according to Zini, Indesit's position is strong. He adds the prices have fallen in 2006, which is good for customers, but in the medium term it will not help to create solid foundations for the business. Yet it appears business in Poland cannot be too bad, since Indesit has decided to build two plants in Radomsko. - Telforce to Splash Out Big Money
