Feb. 14--NEPTUNE -- Toms River Regional school district Superintendent Michael J. Ritacco told the Asbury Park Press editorial board Tuesday that the district has sought alternative funding mechanisms "with the taxpayers in mind."
"We just are looking for a little bit of an edge for our taxpayers," said Ritacco, who since 1992 has served as the district's eighth superintendent in 118 years.
He said that alternative initiatives have helped to keep property taxes low in the Toms River district in comparison to others in Ocean and Monmouth counties.
