Charmer Al's deadly warning on threat to climate SHEFFIELD basked in green glory as the self-proclaimed "man who used to be the next president of the USA" brought the world's environmental focus to the city.
Former US Vice-President Al Gore charmed and joked his way into the hearts of the 1,000 business and environmental experts from across Yorkshire and the world within seconds of walking in The Octagon yesterday.
As if to prove the environmental spotlight really was burning brightly on Sheffield even deputy prime minister and the American politician's "friend" John Prescott popped in to hear the key-note speech.
"I am an admirer of the vision and the determination that has been demonstrated in Sheffield to take this issue on," Mr Gore said.
