Q I have been receiving hundreds of e-mails to notify me that e-mails I am supposed to have sent cannot be delivered. But I have not sent any e-mails and don't even recognise the addresses that they were sent to. Recently, my Internet banking account was hacked into and money was removed. We notified the bank and got the money back. Is this common and how do I overcome it?

A Without examination of the e-mails and of your PC, we can't be sure what is causing this. When you receive "message undeliverable" notifications for messages you haven't sent, the most common explanation is that someone who has your e-mail address in their address book has been infected by a virus or Trojan that is being used to send out spare.
The virus or Trojan is using your address as the from address in all the e-mails it sends out. Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do about it unless you want to change your e-mail address. But hopefully the messages will stop once the owner of the infected PC realises that they have a problem and clean it up.
