In July I celebrated the first-year anniversary of my new loudspeakers, the VMPS RM40s. OK, I know that after an entire year I shouldn't still be calling them "new," given that a lot of audiophiles probably go through a new piece of equipment every month. But considering that I can't afford to be an audiophile and that I had had my previous speakers, Fulton Js, for over thirty years, you can maybe understand my feelings about the VMPS's being relatively new and still pretty exciting.

In honor of their first year with me, I thought I'd jot down a few feelings and observations about them that I've acquired over the past twelve months. Obviously, this is not a lab ...
