With their bridesmaid collection called Thread, Beth Blake and Melissa Akey are almost single-handedly responsible for the trend toward chic wedding-party dresses that a bride's best friend might have picked out for herself (and will even wear again!). The reason? They always design with civilian cocktail frocks in mind. And now those party dresses have inspired a whole line: Thread Social.
