Feb. 3--TOMS RIVER -- Ocean County legislators introduced a bill that would give the Toms River Regional School District $960,000 to defray the cost of its controversial new indoor track and field facility -- dubbed "the bubble" that now looms between two schools on Hooper Avenue.
Bill A-3960, sponsored by Assemblymen David W. Wolfe and James W. Holzapfel, both R-Ocean, would dedicate the appropriation to the school district to make up for an anticipated outlay from the state Schools Construction Corporation that never materialized.
