Feb. 3--Mount Tabor 72, East Rowan 68: Michael Grace hit all eight of his fourth-quarter free throws, including two with a second left, to help Mount Tabor hold off visiting East Rowan in a Central Piedmont 4-A game last night. Mount Tabor (12-10, 6-4) took a commanding lead with a 19-3 second-quarter run, but East (18-3, 8-2) was able to cut the lead to 70-68 when Justin Vanderford hit a three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining. C.J. Harris led Mount Tabor with 21 points. Grace finished with 20, and Justin Griffith added 15. Patterson School (10-1) led by one point when the fourth quarter began. But Winston-Salem Prep shifted from the zone defense it had been playing all night into a man-to-man look. The junior tandem helped the Phoenix (18-6) pull away in that fourth quarter. Wright drilled three 3-pointers in the game and Johnson added 10 rebounds.

Marshall Moses, who played for Glenn last season, scored 16 to lead Patterson. North (14-7) led 19-9 after the first quarter and led by five heading into the fourth quarter, but Reynolds closed with a 22-12 run to win the game.
