JAKARTA, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - The Association of Indonesian Vegetable Oil Producers (GIMNI) is calling for the imposition of a seven per cent tax on crude palm oil (CPO) exports, in order to stem rising exports that are slowing the development of the country's downstream palm oil industries, a spokesman said.
"In the past 25 - 30 years, most of the country's CPO was exported," GIMNI chairman Martua Sitorus said on Wednesday.
"Will we continue to export CPO?."
The government currently imposes a 1.5 per cent tax on CPO exports.
