WASHINGTON, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Underlining the global nature of dependency on oil, President George W Bush on Wednesday said it only made sense for the US to help countries like India and China to make them less dependent on hydrocarbons.
"This is a global issue, obviously... when demand for oil goes up in a place like India or China, it affects the price that you pay at the pump", Bush said.
He was speaking on economic and trade issues in Peoria, Illinois and at the Caterpillar Plant.
"And therefore, it makes sense for us to help these developing countries with new technologies that will not only make them less dependent on hydrocarbons, but better stewards of the environment."
