CHENNAI, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Mobile phone major Sony Ericsson will manufacture mobile phones in Chennai, a top company official said on Wednesday.
The mobile phones would be manufactured through manufacturing agreements with the company's global outsourcing manufacturing partners, Flextronics (BSE:532266) and Foxconn (TAIEX:2354), who have facilities at Sriperumbudur near here.
Addressing a press meet here along with Union IT and Communications Minister Dayanidhi Maran here on Wednesday, Miles Flint, President, Sony Ericsson said production capacity from Chennai was expected to reach 10 million by 2009. He, however, refused to divulge any details of investment.
