USING THE CANADA EXTRA

The Ratings you'll find in this 16-page section list some of the same products included in Ratings reports elsewhere in this book, but with a difference: The products listed here are those that, according to the manufacturers, are sold in Canada.

You can use this section in either of two ways: Start with the main Ratings, find several products you like, and turn to this section to find whether they're sold--and for what price--in Canada. Or start here, find products sold in Canada whose price and overall score you like, and read more about them in the main report and full Ratings chart.

We've tried to make it easier to compare products in the main Ratings to products in the Canadian lists by using the same key numbers (in Ratings that use them) in both. In the Ratings of dryers, for example, the Maytag model listed first in this section has key number 3, because it appears third in the main Ratings on page 256.

In most cases, the prices we list here are the approximate retail in Canadian dollars; manufacturers' list prices are indicated with an asterisk.

"NA" in the chart means that some of the information wasn't available from the manufacturers.
