It will come as no surprise that in an organization such as NRLC which has a virtually limitless workload but very limited resources that staff tends to wear many hats. But even by NRLC's exhausting standards, Jacki Ragan's haberdashery is without peer.
In her "spare time," she manages NRLC's national convention and its Proudly Pro-Life Awards Dinner. That's in addition to her regular job of heading State Organizational Developmentthe lifeline NRLC extends to its 50 state affiliates.
We talked in mid-December as Jacki's department continue to gear up for January 22-related activities. She pointed out that the last thing we would want to do is commemorate Roe v. Wade. We'd all much rather that abortion on demand be an ugly memory, rather than an ongoing lethal reality.
But so long as a sizable portion of our great nation sleeps, this evil will survive. Our task is to awaken America to the monstrosity that is legal abortion. And while we wish Roe had long since been swept into the dustpan of history, in the meanwhile we use the extra attention abortion receives in January to educate the wider public.
Jacki cited a number of examples. One of the many resources being made available to local and state NRLC affiliates is a four-color two-sided Church bulletin insert.
