Several hundred representatives from the tug world gathered in late April at the biennial International Tug & Salvage Convention held this year in Miami. A total of 27 papers were presented at the four-day event.
Six technical workshops were held concurrently with six general-interest presentations on the second day of the conference. Topics covered during the technical workshops ranged from winches and ropes to boxcoolers and Voith Schneider propulsion. The following summaries represent a sample of the papers and presentations delivered at ITS 2004.
