Jan. 5--The man in charge of the country's nuclear weapons arsenal has been fired, and security problems at Los Alamos National Laboratory are partly to blame. Administrator Linton Brooks of the National Nuclear Security Administration announced Thursday he was leaving because Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman asked him to resign. He had held the job since 2002. Bodman "has asked for my resignation because a number of management issues, the most recent of which was the recent security breach at Los Alamos National Laboratory," Brooks said in a news release.
