Yulgilbar.(Poem)

 
YULGILBAR 
 
   It's not so much the castle 
      as up there on the bluff: 
        the "temple" or the "sketching-house" 
 
   is where it's seen most clearly, 
      surrounded now with cattle-tracks, 
        its sandstone cut nearby, 
 
   octagonal, four metres high, 
      bringing back the nymphs and satyrs 
        vanishing through gums-- 
 
   and horses can be almost centaurs 
      seen in certain lights. 
        "Sketching-house" instead of "temple" 
 
   is no less resonant: 
      the regency transported, 
        strolling here in full-length gowns 
 
   to hatch and shade the afternoon 
      with parasols and ...
