SIR: Reviewing Nicholas Wade's Before the Dawn: Recovering the Lost History of Our Ancestors, Robert Murray (November 2006) implies that Wade utilises non-Darwinian Lamarckism to explain the undue preponderance of Ashkenazi Jewish Nobel Prize winners. By explaining this as "mental dexterity" acquired through Jews' being restricted to money-lending and the like, Murray propagates the classical anti-Semitic stereotype of the Jew.
