Jan. 9--MILLBROOK -- The Millbrook City Council on Monday voted unanimously in favor of a $6.7 million bond issue that will more than double the city's sewerage capabilities and potentially increase its retail development.

The largest chunk of the bond money, $5 million, will go toward expanding the treatment facility, which has been running at full capacity for the past few years. The plant handles about 1 million gallons of sewage per day.

Mayor Al Kelley said the expansion is long overdue, considering the growth Millbrook is experiencing.
